ok theres this girl in my class
and she says she's from england and stuff
but shes asian...?

shes kinda weird
she calls the crossing guard person lollipop lady.. o.O(is that wat its called in britain?) and she uses other weird words too
and she has a faint accent on some words
and when i corrected her paper she spells stuff weird

is she faking it or are these things too hard to fake?

o and what the heck is a bobby

Lollipop lady is the English word for crossing guard, because of the stop sign she holds - looks like a lollipop. Bobby is slang for policeman but it's kind of an old man phrase, I've never heard anyone my age (20) use it.

There's loads of Asian people in England, I'd say a third of my class at school was. Plus, most people from other countries tend to speak with an American accent (it seems to be the most common in international schools) so it would be odd for her to have an English one. Oh and the spelling, very different in England, generally we use 's' instead of 'z' like 'analyse' and we add a 'u' like 'colour'.

There are a lot of people of Asian origin in England. Of all the things that a person wouldn't fake if they were pretending to be English (and why would anyone) - knowing that a crossing guard is a lollipop lady is something that you really would have to have lived here to know - it's not the sort of thing that gets mentioned anywhere.

There are a LOT of people there from other places originally. Britain once had a fairly extensive set of colonies, you know, and many people from those colonies emigrated to the "mother country" for various reasons. Britain only just recently returned Hong Kong to Chinese rule, and, after all, anyone in Hong Kong, Chinese or British or anything else, spoke English with a British accent.
